ABOUT ME

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, School of Information, San Jose State University.
Recipient of Outstanding Graduating Student Award (Information Science) 2020, School of Communication and Information, Rutgers University.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests are Conversational Retrieval Systems, Interactive Information Retrieval (IIR), and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). I consider myself to be a mixed-methods researcher and specialize in applications of Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to solve problems in Information Retrieval (IR). I extensively use Experimental Design (both qualitative and quantitative) to assess Human Information
Behavior
and preferences while searching online. My dissertation work focuses on the intelligent functionalities expected of voice-based personal assistants.
